Presentation

Acthéa is an european festival of universitarian theatre and street arts. This event goes on during a week in April and gathers people from Albi and around. Every evening, the public has the possibility to watch at the Albi theatre 2 plays interpreted with passion by talented students from all over Europe.

For the opening and the ending of this festival called “IN”, street arts performances and musicians are to be seen. This is called the “OFF” festival. Jugglers and musicians succeed each others, making everyone laugh and dance. This meeting between theatre troops, artists and public is an amazing exchange of cultures and an example of solidarity and communication. The different languages spoken are far from being an obstacle to comprehension. It’s quite the opposite: gestures, mimicries, looks and emotions are an universal language.

This year, Acthéa celebrates its 14th anniversary and gathers more and more people every year. Strong of its history and its popularity, this festival is back on tracks this year from 7th to 14th of April 2012 to share once again the passion of theatre with people from Albi.

The main goal of this festival is to let people enter the world of theatre, in order to promote discovery and exchange between European artists and French public. This is why we set the entrance to Albi’s theatre at 1 symbolic euro per evening and a free access to concerts. For the most passionate ones, a preferential price of 3 euros has been set for the whole week.

See you soon !
